WHERE DO I START! My excitement and love for these two is off the charts. I am so grateful my path intersected with Ria and Gorka’s. These two just suck you in with their passion and love for life and each other. And they are hilarious! And they fed me pizza after the shoot at this amazing place in Cow Hollow. PIZZA!! If brunch is my love language then I think pizza is my surrogate best friend. Had I been a cartoon I think I might have had unicorns and rainbows shooting out of my head from happiness.
I loved every second that we spent exploring the city, hiking up massive hills, chatting with really nice random strangers atop said hill and the eye opening or maybe should be eye closing?? situation that happened at Baker Beach…
We started off at The Conservatory of Flowers where we were transported to another world. A world where tropical plants dominate along with the intense humidity. The Conservatory of Flowers is a historic building dating back to 1877 with a rich history. Room after room filled with various species of plants and some aquatic animals. It’s definitely a hidden gem in the city. And HOT. So if you need a break from the cool San Francisco weather, definitely a good option haha. Quick tip for photographers be sure to get a permit before shooting inside!
After the Conservatory of Flowers we moved on to another hidden gem, Turtle Hill, which we kinda found on accident, looking for the Mosaic Steps. Turtle Hill offered this slightly misty, romantic view of the Pacific Ocean and to the opposite side of the hill, the city itself. Although it’s a very steep hill, it’s not very large around. At the top we ran into this very nice British gentlemen who was very excited to share with us some fun stops, like the Street Slides which next time I’ll have to check out.
We ended our session out at the gorgeous Baker Beach which features views of the Golden Gate Bridge annnnd….random male nudists.
Yeah, you read that right. Apparently it is somewhat well known for that. Well, one particular dude decided that he needed to go out onto the perch of a rock that is exactly where the scenic view of the Golden Gate is and where I was going to take pictures of Ria and Gorka. I’m pretty sure he was hoping to be a background figure eyesore. We ignored him for a bit and then he went away.
Ria & Gorka! It was an absolute pleasure being your San Francisco engagement photographer! I cannot wait to hang out again 🙂
i am completely in love with this! I adore the conservatory of flowers– what a perfect setting!
